If you search "bridge training software," most results point to corporate learning platforms, not the card game. This article is about contract bridge: the tools that help you practice bidding, opening leads, declarer play, and hand analysis, as of August 2026.

Premium costs $9.99/mo with a 1-month trial and unlocks unlimited deals, stats, and leaderboards. iOS and Android only.

The feature set is still growing compared to BBO's main platform, and there is no web version yet.

Bridgetastic pairs an AI bidding coach ("Brian") with a Hand Analyzer, Opening Lead Advisor, Bidding Trainer, and a 1,900+ article encyclopedia. Free tier: 10 AI queries, 5 analyses, 5 lead advisor uses, and 10 bidding trainer hands per day. Pro: $5/mo or $39/yr. Web (iOS coming, Android in beta).

The Opening Lead Advisor gives you a recommendation for a specific hand. It does not score every card across hundreds of layouts the way an interactive trainer does. That is a different job.

Fred Gitelman's Bridge Master is the gold standard for declarer play problems. You play the correct line; any mistake triggers perfect defense. 180 deals are free across 5 difficulty levels, with 500+ more at BB$0.25 per 30-minute rental (657 total). It lives inside BBO.

The problems are hand-crafted and excellent. The tradeoff: locked to BBO, and the rental model means you cannot revisit problems easily.

The Declarer Trainer lets you play as declarer against adaptive defense powered by client-side DDS compiled to WebAssembly. Suit Combinations isolate single-suit technique against optimal defense, and a custom solver handles any combination on demand. All three tools are free, unlimited, and run in the browser.

The defense is double-dummy optimal, not human-like. Bridge Master's hand-crafted problems teach the "why" behind a line more deliberately. The Declarer Trainer is a free, open-ended practice ground with unlimited positions.

Cuebids is the standard for practicing bidding with a real partner. You bid hands asynchronously and get instant double dummy feedback (0-3 stars). It supports 2/1, SAYC, Acol, Precision, Polish Club, and custom systems. Over 14,000 registered users. Free tier: unlimited partner bidding, 48 tickets per month, daily and weekly events. Diamond plan: $5.99/mo or $59.99/yr.

I concede this one clearly. Cuebids has more system coverage and a larger partner pool than any alternative. The feedback grades the final contract's double dummy result, not the auction path, so a lucky landing can mask a poor auction. But for the job of drilling with your partner, Cuebids is the leader.

Bidding Challenges let you and a partner bid 8 boards against EPBot opponents, then see full contract evaluation and what contracts the field reached. The table creator pays 8 diamonds (1 per board); the partner plays free. Free-practice tables cost nothing.

This is closer to a scored partnership session than a pure drill app. Cuebids has the edge for high-volume repetitive practice.

bid72 is a simpler partnership bidding app. EUR 2.99/mo or EUR 24.99/yr, with a 21-day free trial. iOS and Android only, no web. Smaller feature set and user base than Cuebids.

Bridge Solver Online is a free browser tool that runs DDS in WebAssembly. Enter a deal, get makeable contracts, par score, and card-by-card analysis. No account needed. For quick single-deal double dummy lookups, it is the best free option.

Limitation: single-deal analysis only. No simulation, no hand constraints, no batch processing.

BridgeSolver.com adds constrained simulation: set hand requirements and run double dummy across generated deals. Free account available, plus a Windows desktop app. The interface feels dated, and the free tier's limits are not clearly documented.

The Analyzer gives you card-by-card double dummy analysis for any deal, free and unlimited. Simulations let you constrain all four hands, compare contracts and leads across sampled deals, and share results via link (15 diamonds each). Seven free calculators cover suit breaks, scoring, hand probability, game and slam odds, odds tables, card combinations, and a What Should I Bid tool.

This is where the breadth matters. No other product combines interactive decision puzzles, a declarer trainer, a hand analyzer, constrained simulations, and a calculator suite in one place.

Jack Bridge has won multiple Computer Bridge World Championships. For playing full hands against a strong offline AI, it is the honest pick. Around $99 one-time. Windows only, 3-install limit.

The interface is dated, and reviews on Trustpilot mention slow support. No online play. But if offline AI strength is your priority, Jack is the standard.

Bridge Baron offers offline AI on mobile with adjustable difficulty and vocal hints. Free download, subscription around $5-$7/mo. iOS and Android. Bridgetastic's 2026 roundup suggests free alternatives are better.

Shark Bridge won Computer Bridge championships in 2011 and 2014. Enthusiast: $29.99 one-time. VIP: $34.99/yr. iOS, macOS, Windows. No Android.

Status is unclear: Bridgetastic's 2026 guide lists it as discontinued, though the App Store listing is still live.

Tricky Bridge is the most polished beginner app I have seen. Structured lessons with a storyline, solo AI practice, and robot tournaments. 57+ free lessons and 40 "Just Play" deals. Tournament mode: $9.99/mo. Rated 4.9 on iOS. iOS and Android only, no web.

Bot bidding has been called "really wonky" in App Store reviews, and experienced players will find it too basic. But for learning bridge from zero, it is the pick.

60SecondBridge offers 400+ short lessons for beginners. Subscription-based (exact pricing not verified at the time of writing). Web only. Focused on content, not interactive practice.

Learn Bridge Online runs live Zoom lessons with an instructor, around $40 for a 4-week block. Closer to a traditional class than software.

Start with the job you need done.

1. Bidding and lead decisions: The free Lead Gym and Bidding Gym on BridgeDummy are the fastest scored feedback loop I know of. No other tool scores every opening lead option across all layouts matching the auction.

2. Partnership bidding: Cuebids. If you have a regular partner, this is not close.
