What Is the Daily Challenge?

Every day, BridgeDummy publishes a fresh set of 20 bridge puzzles for you to solve. The daily challenge is designed to give you a focused, well-rounded practice session that covers all the core skills: opening leads and bidding, scored in both matchpoints and IMPs.

Think of it as your daily workout for bridge. You unlock the challenge with 10 diamonds, solve all 20 puzzles, and see how your total stars stack up against everyone else on the leaderboard. It resets every day at midnight UTC, so there is always a new one waiting for you.

How the 20 Puzzles Are Structured

Each daily challenge contains exactly 20 puzzles split evenly across four categories: 5 Lead MP, 5 Lead IMP, 5 Bidding MP, and 5 Bidding IMP. The puzzles are interleaved so you alternate between puzzle types as you play, keeping things varied and interesting.

You solve them in order, one at a time. Each puzzle earns you 1 to 5 stars based on how strong your answer is compared to the simulation results. Your total stars across all 20 puzzles determine your final score, with a maximum of 100 stars possible.

Community Voting and Choice Distribution

After you answer each puzzle, you can see how the rest of the community voted. BridgeDummy shows you a choice distribution that breaks down what percentage of players picked each option, along with the names of recent voters.

This is one of the most useful parts of the daily challenge. Seeing how other players approached the same hand helps you calibrate your thinking. If 80% of the community chose a different card than you did, that is worth paying attention to.

The Leaderboard

Once you finish all 20 puzzles, your total stars are added to the daily leaderboard. The leaderboard is sorted by total stars, then completion time. Players with the same star total can share the same displayed rank.

The top 100 players are displayed, and the top 10 ranked finishers earn bonus Challenge ELO points as a reward. Higher ranks earn larger bonuses, so competitive players have a reason to aim for the top every day.

Reviewing Past Challenges

You can review recent past challenges, puzzle by puzzle. Each review shows you the hand, the full results table, your chosen answer, and the updated community vote distribution.

You can also compare your results side by side with other players who completed the same challenge. This is a great way to learn from stronger players and spot patterns in where your decisions differ from theirs.

Why the Daily Challenge Makes You Better

Solving 20 varied puzzles each day builds consistency and range. Because the challenge covers leads and bidding in both MP and IMP scoring, you are constantly practicing the full spectrum of decisions you face at the table.

BridgeDummy tracks your streaks, achievements, and category progress over time, so you can see whether your lead play is improving faster than your bidding or vice versa. The daily challenge is one of the best ways to build that long-term improvement habit.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does the daily challenge cost?

Each daily challenge costs 10 diamonds to unlock. Once unlocked, you can solve all 20 puzzles and review your answers at any time during that day.

What happens if I do not finish all 20 puzzles?

Your progress is saved, so you can come back and finish any time before midnight UTC. However, you will only appear on the leaderboard after completing all 20 puzzles.

Can I replay a daily challenge from a previous day?

You cannot re-solve past puzzles, but you can review your answers and the community results for the last five days. This is helpful for studying hands you found tricky.
