What Is the Weekly League?
The Weekly League is a competitive mode where you test your bridge skills against other players in a structured, week-long event. Each league week runs from Sunday through Saturday, giving you a full seven days to complete all 32 puzzles at your own pace.
Every week features a balanced mix of puzzle types: 8 Lead MP, 8 Lead IMP, 8 Bidding MP, and 8 Bidding IMP. Entry costs 30 diamonds, and you compete in your current league tier. Your goal is simple: earn as many stars as possible and finish in the top half of your tier to move up.
The Five Tiers
The league has five tiers, each named after a bridge suit. You start at Clubs (the entry tier) and work your way up through Diamonds, Hearts, and Spades. The top tier is No Trump, reserved for the strongest players on the platform.
Each tier has its own leaderboard, so over time you settle into a field shaped by weekly promotion and demotion. As you promote through the tiers, the competition gets tougher, but the bragging rights get better. Your highest tier reached is tracked on your profile as a badge of progress.
How Scoring Works
Your league score is based on total stars earned across all 32 puzzles. Each puzzle awards 1 to 5 stars depending on how well you answer, so the maximum possible score is 160 stars. You need to complete every puzzle before your score appears on the tier leaderboard.
If two players have the same total stars, the tiebreaker goes to whoever earned more 5-star answers. If that is also tied, it moves to 4-star answers, then 3-star answers, and finally earlier completion time. This means quality matters: a perfect answer on a tough puzzle can make the difference between promoting and staying put.
Promotion and Demotion
At the end of each week (Sunday at 3:00 AM UTC), the system processes results for every tier. The top half of participants in each tier promote to the next tier, while the bottom half drop down one tier. If you are already in Clubs, you cannot drop lower. If you are in No Trump, you stay there when you finish in the top half.
There is one important rule: you must earn at least 1 star during the week to be eligible for promotion. Simply entering the league without solving any puzzles will not move you up, even if participation in your tier is low. Promotions and demotions also affect Challenge ELO, with larger ELO swings at higher tiers.
Strategy Tips for Climbing
Take your time with each puzzle. You have the entire week, so there is no reason to rush through all 32 in one sitting. Thoughtful answers that earn 5 stars are far more valuable than quick answers that land at 3 or 4 stars, especially in tiebreaker situations.
Focus on your weaker puzzle types. The league tests all four categories equally, so improving your weakest area (whether that is Lead IMP or Bidding MP) will have the biggest impact on your total score. Use the practice puzzles outside the league to sharpen specific skills before the next week starts.
