What's New at BridgeDummy: November 2026

By Nir KhutorskyIsrael Open4 min readUpdated 2026-10-29

October brought a shorter Daily Challenge, live bridge with your friends, a bidding table you set up yourself, and BridgeDummy on the iPhone. Here is what is new and how to use it.

A 10-Puzzle Daily Challenge

From Friday, October 30, the Daily Challenge has 10 puzzles instead of 20: 5 opening leads and 5 bidding problems, half at matchpoints and half at IMPs. It is shorter, quicker and easier to fit into your day, and it costs 5 diamonds instead of 10. Everyone still gets the same puzzles, and a new day starts at midnight UTC.

Bridge for Fun: Live Bridge With Your Friends

Bridge for Fun is real bridge with four players at one table, played live on a clock, like blitz chess. Open a table, invite up to three friends or share a join link, and play up to 32 boards, one after another, until the host ends the session. You find it in the Play menu.

  • The clock: Bullet gives each player 30 seconds a board, Blitz 60 seconds. Declarer gets 1.5 times the time once dummy goes down. You can also set your own time, or play Relaxed with 10 minutes each.
  • No need for four players: bots take every empty seat, and a bot seat pays nothing.
  • Deals: normal deals, or Goulash for wild hands with long suits and voids (Mild, Wild or Insane).
  • At the table: chat with the table, claim the rest of the tricks (both opponents must accept), and ask to take back a card (the opponents must allow it).
  • Cost: 4 diamonds per player for the whole session, refunded if the game never starts. These games are for fun and do not change your rating.

The Bidding Table: Practice the Auctions You Want

The Bidding Table lets you practice exactly the situation you want to get better at. Open the Bidding Room, choose Your situation as the deal, and describe it: the start of the auction (or let the bots open normally), and hand rules for each player, such as "15-17 balanced" or "5+ spades". Your own hand can be random or a hand you type in.

The engine then deals a board that fits your situation, and the bots bid the other seats. Artificial calls carry an alert with their meaning and point range, for example "Takeout, 12+ HCP". When the auction ends, you see all four hands.

  • Up to 8 auctions in one situation: each board picks one of them at random.
  • Ready-made situations to start from, 30 slots to save your own, and a link to share one.
  • With a friend: on the With partner tab, open a Live table. Your friend sits North and the bots play East-West.
  • Cost: 1 diamond per board for each player. If no deal fits your situation, you pay nothing.

Bidding Challenges: Bid With Your Partner, in Your Own Time

In a Bidding Challenge you and your partner bid 8 boards together, each from your own phone or computer, whenever it suits you. All boards are open at once, the bots bid East-West, and you never need to be online at the same time.

  • Chat on every board: talk about the auction with your partner while you bid.
  • Compare with the field: a Challenge table scores you against every pair who bid the same boards, and against your friends who played them.
  • Never miss your turn: the bell and the Bidding Room tab show which tables wait for you, for a call, an unread message or a new result.
  • Cost: a Challenge costs its creator 8 diamonds, and the partner plays free. A Practice table costs each player 1 diamond per board.

Suit Combinations: Mistake Review and First-Try Stats

Mistake Review now has a second list, Suit combinations: every combination you missed or played with a mistake. Each one comes back for review 5 days later, and the replay is free. Play it perfectly and it leaves the list.

My Stats now shows your suit combination record: how many combinations you played, how many you solved on the first try, and your average stars, also by difficulty. It counts plays from October 15.

BridgeDummy on iPhone

BridgeDummy is now on the App Store as well as Google Play. Sign in with the same account, and your diamonds, stats and progress come with you.

More New Things

  • Rated daily events: the Daily Challenge, Daily Suit Combos and the Weekly League now count as rated events. You are compared with everyone who finished, and your ELO goes up or down with your place. Winning a busy daily is worth about 30 points.
  • A new home page: a greeting, your two daily rows (Daily Challenge and Daily Combos) with a Play or Continue button, and three cards to start from: Practice, Play and Analyze.
